The Bible offers much to learn about casting out demons, but it doesn’t serve as a detailed textbook on the subject. Many people assume that if they encounter a demon, they can command it to leave, and it will obey. While exorcism can be this straightforward at times, it usually involves more complexity. Effective exorcism typically requires addressing deeper issues within the person, such as forgiveness, repentance, believed lies, and painful memories. Once these things are dealt with, the demon can often be removed.
