Side note: Before this service started, I spent 20 minutes asking a man to leave our church because he had come to visit against his ex’s wishes. It seemed clear he was there to mess with them, and I didn’t want to create space for this kind of manipulation. Since he refused to leave, I decided halfway through worship to preach this message on empowering women instead of my original message.
