Oh Rome, oh Rome
The country I call home
The greatest realm of Heaven
Anyone has ever known

Make love, make peace
By the blood of our enemies
Demonizing all the voices
That take the side of empathy

And shun the ones
Who refuse to change the Son
To the image of the emperor
Who claims to follow God

See the pride and hate
Of the ones who are deranged
Their facts and reasons fail
Because we choose what’s real and fake

Ignore the sins of all our own
Make the migrant our scapegoat
Ignore the courts cause someone better
Is now the king over New York

Flip the script on who’s to blame
Is it Russia or Ukraine?
Things that weren’t ever debatable
Are now fodder for the flame

Oh there’s nothing he can’t do
He learned this lesson from me and you
He could shoot a man to death
And he thinks we’d let him, too

Will the white of the flag
Be the only culture left
As we beat others til they’re blue
And make sure red is great again

Oh Rome, oh Rome
The one that crucified the son
Do you not see what you’re doing
Do you see what you’ve become?
