Lauren Stevens is an artist in grad school who recently completed her amazing copper etchings of Behemoth and Leviathan. She was raised alongside car engineers and Bible scholars in the desert terrain of Chandler, Arizona. A young love of pen and ink drawing easily translated to the linear nature of copper etching when she studied at the Kansas City Art Institute. There, she earned her BFA with a specialized emphasis in printmaking. Now, she is furthering her research as the Fall 2023 printmaking candidate at Arizona State University.
She reached out to me and mentioned that my book, Kaiju of Biblical Proportions, was helpful to her in creating an etching of Behemoth and Leviathan. It took her two months to make her Leviathan print and it is her favorite piece she’s made so far—and she was kind enough to send me a copy! I immediately framed it and put it up in my office/podcast studio. What a great gift! Make sure to check out all of her amazing artwork on her Instagram and her webpage, where you can also buy a copy of her work!
