  • Learn How to Do Holistic Deliverance Ministry this Saturday

Me and my friends from The Exorcist’s Bestiary are going to be teaching on the topic of deliverance at 1208 Greenwood Church this Saturday from 2pm-8pm for our annual Reveal Conference. Use the code “jaminbradleycom” to save a couple bucks on already cheap tickets. The Bible offers much to learn about casting out demons, but…

  • Political Theology Gone Wrong: How Bad Platitudes Lead to Worse Politics

When we get overwhelmed by politics, we often resign ourselves to making some kind of generic theological statement to deal with our anxiety. Because voting is a grey space, we resort to such platitudes to remove ourselves from any culpability we might feel for choosing our candidate. I’d like to address a few such platitudes…

  • Sorting the Boxes: Christian Politics on Gender and Identity

Today, I invite you into another political conversation, in hopes that we might think a little more clearly about the issues that Christians often vote around. In this post, I want to give the church some thoughts about the topics of gender and identity. (1) I have two main boxes that I sort political engagement…

  • The New Fake News: When Criticism of Trump Becomes a Mental Diagnosis

I rolled my eyes in 2017 when I came across an article judging Melania for wearing stilettos to Texas to meet citizens in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. “Wearing heels is not a moral issue,” I once preached from the stage of my church, despite the fact that I didn’t support Trump. “If we draw…

  • Divine Inspiration and Creative Collaboration: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Creative Power of the Holy Spirit

The following information is taken almost entirely from two great books: Bandersnatch: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Creative Collaboration of the Inklings by Diana Pavlac Glyer and Tolkien Dogmatics : Theology through Mythology with the Maker of Middle Earth by Austin M. Freeman. C.S. Lewis turned away from Christianity in his teen years and…

  • Beyond the Extremes: Reexamining the Church’s Pro-Life Ethics

Abortion is an incredibly divisive issue, and it’s typically only talked about in extremes. In this post, I’d like to assist the church in thinking a little more widely and clearly on this important topic. (1) Like many in the church, I understand that all life is sacred. Every human being is made in the…

  • When the Church Bows to Policies: Trump, Power, and the Price of Character

“It’s not about character, it’s about policies.” I received this comment several times on my last political post. On the one hand, I’m grateful that Christians who are voting for Trump are more openly recognizing his faults this time around. But on the other hand, I’m troubled that Christians have decided that character doesn’t matter…

  • God Loves Good Works

NEW PODCAST EPISODE: Jamin delves into the vital connection between faith and good works, exploring how the Bible weaves this truth throughout its teachings in compelling and surprising ways.

  • When Politics Become Sacred: Why Pastors Fear Speaking Out

Most of the pastors I know are baffled by Trump. His deception, lying, pride, bullying, stereotyping, and demeaning attitude have us shaking our heads in wonder as to how so many Christians have chosen to turn him into God’s prophetic choice and champion. Not only does such thinking fly in the face of good gospel…
