Yesterday I spent two and a half hours on my friend Neil’s risk_immersed Twitch stream, talking about Nerd Church, video games, creativity, online friendships, and much more. It was a great time and we’ll probably do it again down the road. You can watch our stream here.
Neil is a fellow pastor in my conference who runs a nonprofit called Rise Above. They take in students who have been expelled from their schools and help them turn things around. To borrow from their own words, “Rise Above looks to equip students in a way that will allow them to reach their full, God given potential through relationship restoration and academic credit recovery. Rise Above works to allow students to become connected to a community of people, businesses, and education through counseling, networking and resource sharing.”
