One day, the gods are going to die. Why?
Because they didn’t practice justice. Rather than care for the powerless, the afflicted, and the poor and rescue them from their plight, they sided with their guilty oppressors. Like any god, they are supposed to promote justice in the nations they were assigned to by working with the human royalties under their charge. But those royalties don’t always listen either.
There will always be poor with us—Jesus himself acknowledged that. And for that reason, there will always be a need for a government that creates justice and cares for the poor. Indeed, Jesus told us he would judge us on the same matters that he judged the gods.
American laws centered around issues of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) are generally aimed at promoting justice and caring for the powerless, the afflicted, and the poor. Such laws fly in the faces of the gods, for they have already been judged and have no desire to care for humanity.
While any good law (DEI-related or otherwise) has the potential to backfire and may need some tweaks, it is abysmal to fight against DEI efforts or undo such efforts. May we practice caution, lest the gods sweep us up in their madness.
